A shareblock estate since 1991

The Lochs Share Block (Pty) Ltd holds twenty shares, each tied to a stand on the estate, along with a farm manager's house, staff housing and a farm shed. The estate spans 352 hectares of highveld farmland in the Kleinspruit valley, Mpumalanga.

A resident farm manager, supported by a team of three, maintains the dams, roads and grounds year-round.

Getting here

Location

The estate lies in the Kleinspruit valley off the R33 between Belfast (eMakhazeni) and Stoffberg, on the quiet edge of the Highlands Meander, the highland region known as South Africa's trout country. Belfast is the nearest town; Dullstroom is about twenty-five minutes, and Pretoria and Johannesburg about two hours. The cities feel much further than they are.

Dams and the Grootspruit

Five dams lie across the property, the largest covering twenty hectares; four are stocked monthly with trout. Residents also hold fishing rights on four to five kilometres of the Grootspruit river on a neighbouring farm, a stretch of pools and cascades that includes a fifty-metre waterfall. The adjacent forestry areas are open for walking and mountain biking, and the valley puts on seasonal wildflower displays.
